Mr. Martin Okello is a trained Harvard researcher and a Research scholar of University of California, Berkeley 2005; highly trained in Cytotoxic and molecular sciences with over twenty years of research focusing on infectious diseases and other related health challenges.  He has trained and worked in advanced research laboratories (of P3 & P4) both in Uganda and USA for over 15 years. Over the period, he has participated in various researches such as the nested, applied, basic and clinical trials in the region.  Of these research disciplines, the key ones have been application of hot assays in HIV vaccine development, micronutrient study in HIV/AIDS infected lactating mothers, Mass treatment in HIV/AIDS control and Social Behavioral change research studies in the region. 

He is also trained and an experienced programmer and for over ten years, has been able to manage various projects such as the TB REACH, the Female Sex worker’s HIV/AIDS control & empowerment projects, the nutrition and Food security, the health system strengthening, USAID, AIC, UNICEF, and emergencies projects in a fragile state in the region. 

He is currently pursuing his PhD in Public Health - epidemiology from TUK university as he widens his knowledge and strengthen leadership skills in Health. Largely,  he is committed and passionate about scientific research and health system strengthening as we strive for health equity in Uganda and the region, Africa.
